A fire Saturday morning in DeKalb County killed one person; investigators continue to search for the cause.

When firefighters arrived, they found the home on Hurrican Ridge Road full of heavy smoke and flames.

Memphis Fire Kills One

An early morning house fire has left one man dead.

 

During a search while battling the fire, firefighters found a man's body in the hallway of the home at 422 N. Manassas in Memphis.

 

Four other occupants escaped without injury; one firefighter suffered second degree burns on his ears.

 

This is the second media-reported fire death in Memphis since January 1st.

Cleveland Apartment Fire Kills One

An apartment fire Thursday evening in Cleveland TN has left one man dead.

 

When firefighters had extinguished the fire, they discovered the body of a man in the bedroom.

 

Investigators believe the fire started on the bed where the man's body was found.

 

Authorities said he was a smoker but don't know if that contributed to the fire or his death.

 

Although smoke alarms were in the home, firefighters did not hear them sounding during the fire.

Crossville Man Killed in Weekend Fire

CROSSVILLE — The victim of an accidental fire that claimed the life of the sole occupant of the home that burned Saturday morning has been identified as Hardy 'Wayne' Hutchinson, 67, of 72 Darrell Ave.

Crossville Police, Fire Department and the Tennessee Arson and Bomb Squad responded to the scene of the early morning fire to determine the cause of the blaze and to identify the body that was found in a rear bedroom where the fire started.
